Williamson Trust

The Williamson Trust is a charitable trust established to improve health and wellbeing. It was founded in 1987 by William Salt (1925 – 2020) with the aim of enabling quality of life and longevity. Each year the Trust makes donations to appropriate organisations and individuals to mobilizes multiple sectors, disciplines and communities to work together to foster well-being and tackle threats to health and the environment.

About

Recognising that the health of people is irrevocably linked to a healthy environment and access to healthy foods, the Trust takes a One Health approach to its donation making strategy, integrating health, the environment and food. The benefits of the Trust's work are education across various sectors including the public, civil society, policy makers and researchers; the development of new interventions; and the funding of on-going projects, with the goal being to foster well-being and tackle threats to health and the environment. The Trust works directly with partners to imagine and co-create projects for potential funding. It does not accept unsolicited requests for funding. All funding support provided by the Trust comes from its endowment.
